Background The Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) serves as a branch of the State Education Agency for several elementary and secondary schools and dormitories serving students in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. This contract aims to provide Psychological Counseling Services at Tohaali Community School, which is essential for implementing special education and related services as mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA). The goal is to improve academic achievement for students with disabilities and ensure accountability in educational outcomes. Work Details The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to provide Psychological Counseling Services. Key responsibilities include: 1. Observing, screening, evaluating students, and providing documentation for therapy referrals; 2. Assessing and planning treatment for qualifying students; 3. Participating in multi-disciplinary teams to develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs); 4. Assisting teachers in modifying classroom activities to promote motor development; 5. Developing individual educational programs for physical therapy; 6. Interpreting psychological evaluations to parents; 7. Recommending equipment needs; 8. Documenting evaluations and maintaining data related to services; 9. Coordinating psychological therapy services with other disciplines; 10. Communicating with primary medical care providers; 11. Developing rapport with parents; 12. Serving on educational committees; 13. Maintaining necessary record keeping; 14. Complying with federal mandates and BIE policies.
