7557 Rome Oriskany Road Slab Replacement

Background

The project is initiated by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to replace an existing paver surface with a concrete slab at the facility located at 7557 Rome Oriskany Road, Rome, NY 13440. The goal of the contract is to ensure that the work is completed in a professional manner, adhering to all applicable building codes and safety regulations while maintaining the integrity of the occupied residence.

Work Details

The contractor is responsible for removing existing pavers and replacing them with a concrete slab measuring 12 feet by 10 feet. The scope of work includes: 1. Removal of existing pavers, wood, and earth; 2. Cutting away any shrubs, roots, or stones that interfere with the work; 3. Compacting the subgrade; 4. Placing a minimum of 4 inches of compacted crushed stone (NYS DOT 304-1, type 4); 5. Installing reinforcing wire mesh (6"x6" W1.4xW1.4 WWM) at a depth of 2 inches; 6. Pinning into existing concrete using #4 bar at specified intervals; 7. Pouring a minimum of 5 inches of air-entrained concrete with a minimum compressive strength of 4000 psi; 8. Consolidating and finishing concrete surfaces to produce a uniform finish; and 9. Applying anti-curing and anti-spalling compounds after finishing.

Period of Performance

The work is to be completed within 30 days from the award date unless modified.

Bidder Requirements

Contractors must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor prior to submitting a bid and must provide certified payroll records for prevailing wage compliance. Insurance requirements include coverage for workers' compensation, bodily injury liability, property damage liability, and professional liability if applicable. All contractors must adhere to local and state building codes.
