Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Aware Week Public Health Campaign

Work of the Contract

The AIDS Institute is seeking nine (9) organizations to collaborate on a public health campaign that promotes HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) in advance of PrEP Aware Week, held annually in October. The contracted organizations will: - Promote awareness and uptake of PrEP throughout New York State - Engage community ambassadors to share personalized messages about PrEP and its significance - Develop and distribute PrEP Aware Week resources, including a campaign graphic, slogan, and branded giveaways - Create and disseminate a social media toolkit with brief videos, still ads, and social media posts Who is Requesting It: This initiative is being led by the AIDS Institute, a division of the New York State Department of Health.

Background on the Contract

The AIDS Institute launched this public health campaign in October 2019 and has continued it annually to increase PrEP awareness and usage. The campaign leverages ambassadors statewide and utilizes various media and outreach resources to reach diverse communities. Due to the unique qualifications of the selected organizations and the specific circumstances of this procurement, a competitive process was not feasible.
