Background

Work Details

The contractor will provide all labor and materials necessary to replace sidewalks and slabs at IRA 3. The scope of work includes: 1. Removal of existing concrete and earth to a depth of 11 inches. 2. Cutting away and removal of any shrubs, roots, or stones that may interfere with the work. 3. Setting 2"x6" forms anchored in position. 4. Compacting the subgrade. 5. Installing reinforcing 6"x6" wire sidewalk mesh at a depth of 2 inches, anchored securely using 16 gauge or heavier black annealed wire. 6. Spacing expansion joints no more than five feet apart. 7. Placing a minimum of six inches of compacted crushed stone in two layers, compacting each layer. 8. Ensuring sidewalks have a cross pitch of 2% and a linear slope of 4%. 9. Pinning into existing concrete using #4 bar at 12 inches on center at least 8-12 inches deep, using epoxy for bonding. 10. Pouring air-retained concrete with a minimum compressive strength of 4000 psi, ensuring no pouring occurs below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. 11. Consolidating concrete to eliminate air pockets and providing a broom finish to all surfaces. 12. Finishing edges with a radius edging tool and applying anti-curing compounds as specified. 13. Complying with American Concrete Institute standards and following all manufacturers' specifications for products used.
