Landfill Recycle Services

Background

The Dorchester County Department of Public Works is seeking proposals for landfill recycling services to support their mission of effective waste management and environmental sustainability. The contract aims to facilitate recycling operations at multiple locations throughout the county, ensuring that recyclable materials are properly collected and processed.

Work Details

The contractor will provide landfill recycling services at five designated single stream recycling locations within Dorchester County. Services include: - Providing 8-yard single stream recycling cans at all locations, clearly marked for accepted recyclables. - Servicing each location three times per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). - Additional dumping services during holidays if required. - Maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds during scheduled dumping. - Providing monthly documentation of estimated tonnage of recyclables collected. - Ensuring all loads are delivered to a certified recycling center for sorting. - All supplemental charges (fuel surcharge, delivery, etc.) must be included in the monthly price.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed over a period of three years.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at five recycling centers located in Hurlock, Cambridge, Secretary, Church Creek, and Beulah Landfill in Maryland.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must provide proof of insurance including Workman’s Compensation Insurance and Public Liability Insurance with specified minimum coverage amounts. A Certificate of Insurance naming Dorchester County as an additional insured is required as a condition for bid award.
