CHJCF Food Service Freezer Repairs

Background

The Ohio Department of Youth Services (ODYS) is seeking to establish a contract for repairs to two food service freezers at the Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility (CHJCF). This initiative supports ODYS's mission to meet the nutritional needs of youth in their care through effective dietary programs. The specific focus is on replacing condensers and evaporators in the freezers designated as 'F2' and 'F3'.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks for both F2 and F3 freezers: - Shut off water valves. - Discharge all refrigeration. - Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for electrical systems. - Disconnect piping. - Remove existing condenser packages and evaporators. - Prepare the area for new installations. - Install new refrigeration lines from evaporator to condenser area. - Install new condenser packages and evaporators. - Install external parts necessary for connecting the condenser systems. - Provide new piping and electrical connections for condensers and evaporators. - Charge systems with new refrigerant. - Turn on all valves and electric systems. - Pressurize systems and test for leaks. A list of installed equipment must be provided to the facility. Applicable manufacturers’ warranties and a workmanship warranty on installation must be included.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to commence upon award, estimated to be effective by June 1, 2026, and will continue until all work is completed as per the agreed terms.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must complete an item grid in OhioBuys, providing a total inclusive cost of labor and equipment. Any additional work or equipment required beyond the defined scope must also be included in the proposal. Quotes must remain valid for a minimum of sixty (60) days. Site visits are mandatory prior to contract award.
