Background

The Narragansett Regional School District is issuing a contract for the MSBA Accelerated Repair Partial Roof Replacement at Narragansett Middle School and Narragansett Regional High School in Baldwinville, Massachusetts. The goal of this project is to address critical roofing issues to ensure the integrity and safety of the school facilities.

Work Details

The project involves the removal and replacement of selective areas of EPDM and metal roofing assembly, including associated insulation, air and vapor barriers, roof decks, flashing, masonry, expansion joints, blocking, accessories, roof drains, vents, mechanical equipment and curbs. It also includes associated electrical work as noted in the Contract Documents. Additional work entails structural reinforcement, ACT ceiling replacement, and installation of conduit for solar readiness. Selective interior and exterior demolition and patching will be required to complete the above work. Alternate options include providing walkway pads at roof areas H & M and offering Galvalume Steel metal roofing with metal wall panels instead of aluminum.

Period of Performance

The on-site construction is limited to 67 days from June 23, 2026 through August 28, 2026.

The work will be performed at Narragansett Middle School and Narragansett Regional High School located in Baldwinville, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements

General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in General Building Construction. They must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility along with a signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. Bidders are required to contract with minority, women and veteran-owned business enterprises (MBE/WBE/VBE) with participation benchmarks set at no less than 4.4% MBE, 8.2% WBE, and 3% VBE for all state-assisted projects over $150K. Additionally, workforce participation benchmarks are set at 6.9% for women and 15.3% for minorities.
