Background

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking to procure the FibroScan® Expert 630, a non-invasive medical device designed for liver diagnostics. This purchase is part of the Endoscopy Center's efforts to maintain high standards of care by replacing an existing FibroScan® 502 device currently in use. The goal is to enhance patient care through advanced technology that does not require disposable supplies, thus reducing recurring costs.

Work Details

The contract involves the procurement of the FibroScan® Expert 630, which measures liver stiffness using Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography™ (VCTE™) at 50 Hz shear wave frequency and liver ultrasound attenuation (CAP™) at 3.5 MHz. This model can also measure spleen stiffness via VCTE™ at 100 Hz shear wave frequency. The purchase includes M+ and XL+ VCTE™ probes suitable for different patient morphologies and Guided VCTE™ software aimed at improving exam accuracy in obese patients. The device is FDA-cleared and offers proprietary technology that no other vendor can provide.

Period of Performance

The contract term is set for 3 years with an option to renew as per New Mexico Procurement Law.

Place of Performance

The product will be delivered to the University of New Mexico Health System (UNMH), specifically to the Endoscopy Center located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bidder Requirements

The proposed vendor, Echosens North America, Inc., is the sole source for this procurement due to its proprietary technology and FDA clearance for the FibroScan® Expert 630 device. No other vendors were found capable of meeting the specifications required for this purchase.
