Background The Watervliet Arsenal (WVA) is seeking a contractor to provide a new structural steel flooring system to support manufacturing equipment in Building 35. The goal of this contract is to ensure the flooring can adequately support heavy equipment while adhering to safety and construction standards. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the design, materials, installation, workmanship, fabrication, assembly, erection, inspection, quality control, and testing of a new structural steel flooring system. The existing flooring covering approximately 280 square feet (28' L x 10' W) must be removed and replaced with a new metal flooring system capable of supporting equipment weighing up to 18,000 pounds. Any necessary removal and replacement of conduit or plumbing must comply with manufacturer's specifications and industry standards. The work must adhere to various codes and standards including the International Building Code (IBC), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Welding Society (AWS), and ASTM International specifications. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of 90 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance All work will take place at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY.
