Scope of Work

Preferred Construction is seeking bids for the Bergen Point WWTP - Sanitary Laboratory Improvements (CP 8166) as a SINGLE Prime contract. The work involves improvements to the sanitary laboratory at the Bergen Point Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is a Prevailing Wage Project and all workers must possess valid OSHA cards.

This project is designated as a UNION PLA PROJECT and includes a Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) goal requirement of 12%.

Commercial General Liability Insurance

$2,000,000 per project - Owners Contractors Protective (OCP) Insurance: For contracts exceeding $5,000,000, the contractor must provide $1,000,000 Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability Insurance in the name of and covering the liability of the County of Suffolk, with a combined single limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage.

Umbrella/Excess Liability Insurance

$2,000,000 For detailed insurance requirements, refer to pages starting with GC-25 (Page 100) in the specification book. - Subcontractors are subject to the same terms and conditions and must be submitted to the Owner for approval prior to the commencement of any work.

Requests for Information (RFIs) must be submitted in accordance with Section I17 of the Instructions to Bidders. The RFI deadline is May 18th, 2026 at 12:00pm (5 days prior to bid due date).
