D12 - Mulch Blowing

Background

The State of Ohio is seeking a contractor to provide mulch blowing services for specific locations within Cuyahoga County. The goal of this contract is to enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of the landscaping in designated areas by installing dark hardwood mulch. This initiative aligns with the state's commitment to maintaining public spaces and improving community environments.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for installing dark hardwood mulch at specified tier ramps, namely E9th, Ontario, and Orange. The mulch must be applied at a depth of 2-4 inches in all beds and around trees in each tier. The installation period is set annually between June 15 and July 30. Prior to installation, the vendor must present samples of the mulch to the Highway Management Cuyahoga County Administrator or their designated representative for final selection. If the mulch is stored on grass surfaces, a tarp must be placed down to protect the grass.

Bidder Requirements

The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations throughout the duration of the contract. Additionally, they must ensure that any subcontractors used are approved by the State.
