The USFS is pursuing a Purchase Order to provide road repair construction services on Forest Road 86, on the Monongahela National Forest. Work includes but is not limited to base failure repair, pavement failure repair, and resurfacing. Services shall be performed by the awardee in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions of this solicitation, including those found in the solicitation attachments. Background The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is issuing this solicitation for a Purchase Order to provide road repair construction services on Forest Road 86, located in the Monongahela National Forest. The project aims to address extensive damage caused by flooding and heavy equipment use, ensuring the roadway remains safe and accessible for recreational activities such as camping, fishing, and commuting. Work Details The work includes base failure repair, pavement failure repair, and resurfacing of Forest Road 86. Specific tasks include: - Milling or sawing of pavement and excavation of unsuitable material from failed areas. - Repairing base failure areas by placing rock and separation fabric to create French drains as needed. - Placing and compacting aggregate base stone, followed by Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) base material to restore the road grade. - Application of HMA leveling and wearing courses throughout the project area. - Scarifying shoulders, removing topsoil and vegetation, and placing compacted aggregate to create 1-foot shoulders. - Hauling milled HMA material to designated areas for placement in compacted lifts. The contractor is responsible for all supervision, labor, equipment, materials, quality control, and incidentals necessary for project completion. Period of Performance The contract will be performed from June 15, 2026, to October 12, 2026. Place of Performance Monongahela National Forest, specifically on Forest Road 86.
