Scope of Work

The contract involves the reconstruction and strengthening of the last 2,000 feet of Runway 24 at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. The primary tasks to be completed under this project include: - Removal of approximately 40,244 square yards of existing pavement - Installation of 38,799 square yards of cement treated soil base course - Placement of 40,504 square yards of crushed aggregate base course - Application of 11,686 tons of asphalt mixture binder course - Application of 12,797 tons of asphalt surface course - Marking of 263,000 square feet of pavement - Grooving of 27,513 square yards
