RTD Large Printing Contract

Background

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is a sales tax-supported entity responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of a public mass transportation system in the Denver metro area. RTD seeks proposals from qualified vendors to provide large-format printing services to promote its agency through various marketing materials. The goal of this contract is to ensure high-quality production of materials that can withstand the unique conditions of a public transit environment.

Work Details

The selected vendor will provide large-format printing services including, but not limited to: interior and exterior bus and rail vehicle signage, static clings (transfluxes), vinyl banners, mesh banners, direct application graphics, information posters, and other materials. All prints must use UV inks/coatings due to exposure to outdoor elements. The vendor must ensure operational efficiency and brand integrity by engineering materials for high-index UV exposure, extreme thermal cycling, and weekly industrial wash cycles. The contract also requires the vendor to provide printed samples such as Styrene Cards for bus interiors, Adhesive Back Transfluxes, Exterior Vehicle Panel samples, Outdoor Vinyl Banners/Graphics, and up to three additional samples of their choice. Additionally, the vendor must be capable of producing final printed products from a Mac-based environment using Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and provide proofs for each job before printing.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence on September 1, 2026, or upon the date of the Notice to Proceed issued by RTD. The initial period of performance is three years with options for two additional one-year extensions.

Place of Performance

The services will be performed at the vendor's location with deliveries made to various RTD facilities across the metro Denver area including locations such as Denver, Aurora, Commerce City, Golden, Evergreen, Longmont, and Boulder.

Bidder Requirements

Vendors must submit a complete resume/credentials detailing their experience and capabilities in large-format printing. They are required to provide three business references from recent clients within the past year. Additionally, vendors must demonstrate their ability to meet quality control standards and production deadlines while encouraging subcontracting opportunities with small business enterprises (SBEs). Proposals should include a completed Bid Cost Form with pricing for multiple fiscal years.
