Background

The City of Medford, led by its Historical Committee, is initiating the Cross Street Cemetery Excavation Project in Medford, Massachusetts. This project aims to conduct excavation work at the former Cross Street Cemetery as part of historical preservation efforts.

Work Details

The contract involves excavation services at the Cross Street Cemetery. Specific tasks include site preparation, removal of soil and debris, and any necessary restoration of the site post-excavation. The project is subject to Minimum Wage Rates as determined by Massachusetts General Law (M.G.L.) c. 149, § 26 to 27D.

Period of Performance

The contract work is expected to commence upon award and continue until the completion of the excavation project. Bids are due by May 21, 2026.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must submit a Bid Security in the form of a bid bond or certified check amounting to five percent of the bid. A Payment Bond of 50% is required for contracts exceeding $25,000. Bidders are encouraged to participate in MBE/WBE/DBE programs.
