Background

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract aimed at providing maintenance painting services for apartments and public spaces, both interior and exterior. This initiative is part of NYCHA's commitment to maintaining its housing developments across all five boroughs of New York City. The goal of this contract is to ensure that residential units and public areas are kept in good condition through regular maintenance painting, which includes stairwell painting using specific materials such as FRP and Silicate Systems.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for the maintenance painting of apartments and public spaces, including stairwell painting. Specific tasks include: - Application of various paint systems (1 coat, 2 coats, 3 coats) for apartments ranging from 1-room to 9-room configurations. - Use of specific materials such as Intumescent FRP and FRP top coat for stairways and public hall levels. - Complete preparation and painting of all components located within open 'A' type stairways and enclosed stairwell spaces. - The contract encompasses a variety of line items detailing different room sizes and paint systems, with quantities specified for each type of application.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon award notification and will continue until the maximum value of work is reached or until the contract is terminated. The exact duration will be based on task orders issued under the IDIQ structure.

Work will be performed in various developments across all five boroughs of New York City.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must pre-qualify as an 'Approved Supplier via NYCHA-Technical Services Paint Program' and appear on the active approved vendor list. Additionally, bidders are required to enroll NYCHA residents as apprentices based on the value of their bid. A performance bond capacity of $5 million is required, along with a payment bond equal to 100% of the contract minimum amount ($50K). Bidders must also comply with insurance requirements outlined in the RFQ.
