Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the rehabilitation of wet wells at Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) in Arizona and Nevada. The goal of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and operational efficiency of sewage systems within the park, which is critical for environmental protection and visitor safety. This project is set aside for small business concerns, with a focus on enhancing local business participation. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for cleaning, repairing, and installing protective coatings to three wet wells: one at Temple Bar, AZ, and two at Katherine Landing, AZ. Specific tasks include: 1. Cleaning and preparing the wet wells for coating application. 2. Installing QRM Structure Guard SE1000 (or an acceptable equivalent) protective coating to all three wet wells. 3. Removing a failing fiberglass liner from the Temple Bar wet well before applying the new coating and sealing all pipe penetrations in the wet well. 4. Providing bypass pumping services during installation to manage sewage flow from developed areas, ensuring that sewage is redirected appropriately during work hours. 5. Implementing confined space entry protocols as per safety regulations, including providing a confined space entry program to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). 6. Installing safety barriers to prevent unauthorized access to work zones. Period of Performance The contract period of performance is from July 1, 2026, to December 28, 2026. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, specifically at Temple Bar and Katherine Landing in Arizona.
