PVTA IFB #26-012B UMass Lift Replacement

Background

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) is a regional transit authority and political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, organized under Chapter 161B of the Massachusetts General Laws. Its mission is to provide public transit services to twenty-four communities within the Pioneer Valley region of western Massachusetts. PVTA is funded through federal, state, and local funds, as well as passenger farebox revenue. The agency is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and aims to improve the quality of its operations while providing accessible, safe, reliable, and cost-effective services.

Work Details

The contract involves the removal of an existing hydraulic bus lift and the installation of a new hydraulic bus lift in the chassis wash bay at PVTA's UMass Transit facility. The project scope includes: 1. Concrete work related to the lift installation; 2. Plumbing work necessary for the lift operation; 3. Electrical work required for connecting the new hydraulic bus lift.

Period of Performance

The contract will be performed from June 17, 2026, onwards following the submission deadline for bids.

Place of Performance

The work will be conducted at PVTA's UMass Transit facility located in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be General Contractors (GC) capable of fulfilling the project requirements. The contract will afford full opportunity to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) to submit proposals without discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin.
