Rib Mountain State Park Arborist Services

Background

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking bids for Arborist Services to be utilized at Rib Mountain State Park. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the maintenance and safety of trees within the park, aligning with the DNR's mission to manage and protect Wisconsin's natural resources. The DNR intends to award multiple contracts based on the bids received, but does not guarantee any specific quantity or dollar amount will be purchased during the contract term.

Work Details

The contractor will provide tree trimming and removal services, which include: - Trimming dead, diseased, infected, damaged, or unsafe portions of trees to preserve their health. - Removing dead or diseased trees and those deemed a safety risk. - All work must comply with standards set by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA). - The vendor must supply all necessary equipment such as chainsaws, trucks, woodchippers, lifts, stump grinders, and skid loaders. - Proper traffic management must be utilized in designated areas during operations. - The vendor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and ensuring compliance with state regulations regarding debris disposal. - All debris must be removed from public use areas unless otherwise directed by the DNR property manager. - Stump removal methods will be determined by the property manager. - A Statement of Work (SOW) detailing specific activities and timelines must be submitted for each job.

Period of Performance

The initial contract term is two (2) years, with options to renew for up to three (3) additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance

Services will be performed at Rib Mountain State Park in Wisconsin.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must employ an individual who is FISTA certified or equivalent during service provision. They must submit references from at least three similar projects completed within the last five years. Bidders are required to provide proof of insurance policies issued by a licensed company in Wisconsin with a minimum AM Best rating of A-. Additionally, bidders cannot subcontract any part of this agreement without prior written consent from the DNR.
