Revere Barracks Roof Replacement and Associated Work

Background

Work Details

The scope of work includes: - Removal of all existing roofing systems down to the structural concrete, including tile and roofing felts. - Removal of all existing roof-related flashings, fascia, and copings. - Demolition and installation of new or repair of existing concrete deck. - Installation of a self-adhered vapor retarder throughout roof areas. - Installation of a minimum of two layers of insulation on the underside of roof deck (U_0.032) in specified areas. - Installation of terracotta tiles. - Installation of a modified bituminous roof system on coverboard on insulation in flat roof areas. - Installation of new metal flashings, roof edges, and rising wall locations. - Installation of new and repair of existing outriggers. - Isolated brick repairs including replacement and repointing. - Abatement of asbestos-containing roofing cement and caulking. - Installation of new ceilings. - Installation of signage directing public to rear accessible entrance. - Modifications in men’s toilet room including raising sink, relocating toilet paper dispenser, and lowering mirror. - Removal and replacement of existing call station at rear entrance with a new video call station. - Replacement of selected structural steel roof framing. - Framing and installation of new gypsum plaster ceiling.

Period of Performance

The project is scheduled for 425 calendar days to substantial completion.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at the Revere Barracks located at 220 Revere Beach Parkway, Revere, MA 02151.

Bidder Requirements

Every Filed Sub-bidder must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management in the category for which they bid for projects exceeding $150,000. Every General Bidder must also be certified by the Division for the category of work for no less than the bid price plus all add alternates.
