MANDATORY Pre-Bid: Hackberry Lane Thermal Repairs

Background

The University of Alabama is issuing a solicitation for the Hackberry Lane Thermal Repairs project, identified as UA Project #TRN-26-4264. The goal of this contract is to replace thermal hot water piping and perform associated construction activities to enhance infrastructure on campus.

Work Details

The scope of work includes the replacement of 14" thermal hot water piping in Hackberry Lane and Farrah Hall Alley at 6th Avenue. Specific tasks include: - Traffic control - Excavation - Demolition - Mechanical piping replacement - Thermal insulation installation - Filling - Roadbed preparation - Sidewalk construction - Paving - Striping

Period of Performance

The project is scheduled to commence with a pre-bid meeting on May 28, 2026. Bids are due by June 9, 2026, and the overall timeline for completion will be determined post-bid acceptance.

Place of Performance

The work will be performed at The University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Bidder Requirements

General Contractors and Prime Sitework/Utilities Contractors must prequalify prior to bidding. Prequalification submissions are due by May 26, 2026. Contractors must meet licensing requirements as per Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama and provide evidence of their license before bidding.
