Background

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR) is dedicated to managing the coastal resources of Mississippi, enhancing, protecting, and conserving marine interests for future generations. This solicitation is issued by the Office of Statewide Strategic Sourcing (OSSS) on behalf of MDMR to seek bids from qualified contractors for material deployment services at the MDMR Staging Site.

Work Details

The contractor will be responsible for loading, transporting, and deploying concrete materials by barge from the MDMR Staging Site located at 11015 Reichold Rd., Gulfport, MS, to multiple reef sites approximately 20 to 26 miles south of Pascagoula. The materials include concrete culverts (3-5 feet in diameter and 4-8 feet in length), poles (25-35 feet long and 12 inches in diameter), and modules. The contractor must ensure that the barge has a minimum carrying capacity of at least 800 tons. The deployment must be coordinated with MDMR staff, who will provide GPS coordinates for deployment locations. The contractor is also responsible for all labor and equipment required for loading, transporting, and deploying the materials, including cranes and laborers. Additionally, the contractor must retrieve any debris expelled during deployment and ensure compliance with OSHA and Coast Guard regulations.

Period of Performance

The contract will commence upon execution and is expected to last one year with an option to renew for one additional year at MDMR's discretion.
