Attenuator Trucks

Background

The State of Idaho's Division of Purchasing, on behalf of the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), is issuing this Invitation To Bid (ITB) to solicit bids from qualified firms for the provision of Attenuator Trucks. ITD's mission is to enhance quality of life through transportation by improving safety and mobility for the public. The procurement aims to acquire Attenuator Trucks that are essential for highway maintenance and traffic control operations, ensuring work-zone safety for both personnel and the traveling public.

Work Details

The contract involves the delivery of Attenuator Trucks, specifically 24 trucks in the initial order, with additional orders anticipated between 1 to 4 trucks per year thereafter. Each truck must meet specific specifications including a single axle drive chassis (e.g., Ford F-650), equipped with various safety and operational features such as hydraulic systems, LED lighting, and a solar charging system. The trucks must comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and include components like a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) compliant with MASH Test Level 3, changeable message boards, and arrow boards. The contractor is responsible for installation, warranty coverage, and adherence to detailed installation standards outlined in the solicitation.

Period of Performance

The initial term of the contract will be one year, with potential renewals extending up to five years based on mutual agreement. Delivery of the trucks is required within 180 days after receipt of order.

Place of Performance

The delivery location for the trucks is at the Idaho Transportation Department headquarters located at 3311 West State St, Boise, ID 83703.

Bidder Requirements

Bidders must be authorized dealers or distributors of the truck chassis offered and provide documentation upon request. They must ensure that any installed equipment is certified by respective manufacturers for installation and warranty purposes. Bidders are required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws during performance.
