Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of heat pumps at Glenmont Mansion, part of the Edison National Historic Park. The goal of this contract is to enhance the energy efficiency and functionality of the existing geothermal heating system by replacing outdated equipment with new, medium-efficiency units. This project aligns with NPS's mission to preserve and protect cultural resources while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Work Details The contractor is required to remove and replace five (5) existing water source heat pumps with new units that have a capacity of 5 tons each. The new heat pumps must meet the following specifications: minimum efficiency ratings of EER 15.0 and COP 4.5 or higher, use EPA-approved refrigerants, and be compatible with the existing building automation system. The work must comply with National Park Service standards, local building codes, and environmental regulations. Additionally, the contractor must provide all necessary equipment, parts, and labor for the project. Warranty requirements include a minimum of 5 years on compressors and 1 year on parts, as well as a minimum of 1 year on installation workmanship. Period of Performance The contract performance period is set for 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed, beginning on June 1, 2026, and concluding by September 1, 2026.
