Background The City of North Adams is issuing a solicitation for the construction of six (6) T-hangars at Harriman-and-West Airport. This project is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance airport facilities and is funded by grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Aeronautics Division, and the City of North Adams. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary infrastructure to support aviation activities in the region. Work Details The contract involves site preparation and the construction of a six (6)-unit pre-engineered metal T-hangar building. Specific tasks include: - Construction of a concrete foundation and slab - Installation of electrical service - Site restoration - All incidental work related to the construction project. Additionally, there is an additive alternate for the replacement of the existing City hangars’ metal roof. Period of Performance The work shall be completed within 120 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Place of Performance The construction will take place at Harriman-and-West Airport in North Adams, Massachusetts. Bidder Requirements General bidders must be DCAMM-certified in General Building Construction. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 44A(2), as amended.
