Background The Effingham County Board of Education is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the School Nutrition Program (SNP) to procure grocery items for the 2026-2027 school year. The goal of this contract is to ensure the timely purchase and delivery of food products to support the nutritional needs of students across 15 school locations. Work Details The successful bidder will be responsible for the weekly purchase and delivery of various grocery items, including but not limited to: - Beef products (e.g., burger patties, country fried steak, ground beef) - Chicken products (e.g., whole chickens, chicken nuggets, chicken patties) - Pork products (e.g., bacon, pulled pork) - Turkey products - Dairy items (e.g., cheese, yogurt) - Breakfast items (e.g., mini bagels, breakfast pizza). Period of Performance The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, and will end on June 30, 2027. There is an option to extend the contract for up to three additional months at the same pricing upon mutual agreement. Place of Performance Deliveries will be made to various school locations within Effingham County, Georgia including Blandford Elementary School, Creekside Elementary School, Ebenezer Elementary School, among others. Bidder Requirements Bidders must comply with federal regulations regarding procurement for school nutrition programs and provide evidence of financial capabilities if requested. They are required to maintain insurance coverage as specified in the IFB and must not be debarred or suspended from participation in federal assistance programs. Additionally, vendors must certify compliance with the Buy American Act and provide a Lobbying Certification if applicable.
