Background The Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, managed by the National Park Service (NPS), consists of three units and a headquarters/visitor center operation. The project aims to enhance security and reduce travel time for staff by automating entrance gates at Gran Quivira and optionally at Quarai. This upgrade will allow for more efficient access management and improve safety for both the public and staff. Work Details The primary work includes: - Addition of motorized operators to the entrance gates at Gran Quivira. - Optional relocation and motorization of the Quarai gate. General tasks include: - Modification of existing gates. - Installation of new gate motors, hardware, sensors, rolling assembly (if needed), solar panels, batteries, conduit, wiring, wireless transmitters, reflectors, signage, road markings (stop bar-swing indicator). - Warranty and operational training for a turn-key gate system. Specific tasks include: - Setup roadside warning signage per approved highway permit. - Install concrete pads/posts for solar panels and battery compartments as well as gate operator mounting structures. - Provide eight programmable wireless transmitters (two channel minimum). - Install an exit loop in pavement and seal upon testing readiness. - Provide and install a “Knox Box” model 3200 for emergency access coordination with local fire department. - Conduct training for park personnel with documentation provided on a flash drive. Period of Performance The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the award and complete it within 90 calendar days. Place of Performance Gran Quivira Unit and Punta de Agua Unit in Mountainair, New Mexico.
