Summary (Newest Update)

Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) has a mission to manage natural resources and act as steward of its lands and waters. This contract aims to provide chemical and mechanical treatment of noxious and pest weeds on COE-owned lands around Dworshak Dam and Reservoir, addressing the significant threat posed by these invasive species to resource management and conservation efforts. The current Dworshak Weed Management Plan employs various control measures, including chemical treatments in critical areas for immediate containment or eradication. Work Details The contractor will perform the following tasks: 1. Apply appropriate herbicides to kill designated noxious and pest weeds along roads and across designated treatment areas on COE-owned lands. 2. Target specific plant species identified as noxious by the State of Idaho as of January 1 of the current year, including Bull Thistle, Chicory, Common Cocklebur, Common Mullein, Common Tansy, Dog Rose, Oxeye Daisy, Garden Coneflower, Meadow Knapweed, St. John's wort, Sulfur Cinquefoil, Tree of Heaven, and Ventenata. 3. Conduct two treatments for General Herbicide (broadleaf control) totaling approximately 120 acres—one treatment of 118 acres and a second treatment for approximately 2.3 acres. 4. Ensure all herbicide applications follow the USACE Pest Management Program Implementation Instructions dated August 22, 2017. 5. Maintain a quality control program to ensure services meet performance objectives outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Period of Performance May 1 through August 31, 2026. Place of Performance COE-owned lands around Dworshak Dam and Reservoir.
