Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for the demolition of the Miles City Campus located at 210 S Winchester Ave, Miles City, MT 59301. The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality care and services to veterans, and this contract aims to facilitate the removal of outdated structures to improve the campus environment. The project involves comprehensive demolition tasks following previous asbestos abatement conducted in 2019, ensuring a safe and compliant process. Work Details The contractor shall provide all necessary professional services for the complete demolition of the Miles City Campus, which includes: - Demolition and removal of a four-story building and 11 single/double story buildings totaling approximately 175,000 square feet. - Complete removal of slabs, foundations, sidewalks, paved surfaces, and utilities (electrical, plumbing, sewage, water, gas). - Proper disposal of all debris and excess soil in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. - Backfilling voided areas with friable topsoil and establishing turfgrass for erosion control. - Safeguarding personnel during demolition operations with necessary signage and barricades. - Disconnecting and capping all utilities safely. - Conducting a metal sweep of the site post-demolition to ensure no debris remains. - Repairing any damaged trees according to forestry regulations.
