Background The project is initiated by the Colorado National Monument, located in Mesa County, CO. The primary mission of this project is to enhance safety and functionality through guardrail improvements, which are essential for the protection of both vehicles and pedestrians in this national monument area. The goal of the contract is to replace existing guardrails and install new ones to ensure compliance with safety standards. Work Details The scope of work includes the replacement of existing guardrails, guardrail posts, guardrail blocks, and end terminals. Additionally, new guardrail installations and shoulder enhancements are proposed in three specific areas. One area will also involve the resetting of boulders. The principal work items include: - Roadway Aggregate, Method 2: 120 TON - Guardrail System MSG, Type 2 Class A Wood Posts (Natina): 325 LNFT - Terminal Section, Type MGS Tangent: 6 EACH - Remove and Reset Barrier: 320 LNFT - Sign System (Solar Radar Flashing Speed Sign): 1 EACH.
