Background The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is issuing this solicitation for the removal of the 9 Bay Bridge and installation of a low water crossing at the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). The project aims to enhance accessibility and improve water management in the area, aligning with the agency's mission to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. Work Details The contractor is required to perform the following tasks: 1. Remove the existing bridge; 2. Install a low water crossing; 3. Mobilization/Demobilization, Bonding, Overhead, & Profit; 4. Demolish existing road; 5. Install riprap with fabric; 6. Set up temporary road signs; 7. Install signs for new road; 8. Pour concrete; 9. Execute cut/fill operations for site preparation; 10. Apply grout as needed. The project magnitude is estimated between $250,000 and $500,000. Period of Performance The contract performance period is from June 1, 2026, to March 4, 2027, with a total duration of 276 days after receiving notice to proceed. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge located at 1434 NE 80th Street, Stafford, KS 67578.
