Background The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for the stabilization of Building 40 located at the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area in Fort Hancock, NJ. This project aims to preserve a contributing resource within the Fort Hancock and Sandy Hook Proving Ground National Historic Landmark District, ensuring that all work complies with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Work Details The contractor will perform various construction tasks including: - debris removal - wood floor repair - inspection and repair of roof sheathing and framing - replacement of gable sloped and flat roof section overlays - repair of wood fascia and soffit - repair of copper gutters and downspouts. Additionally, there are options for boarding window openings at the Post Office/Gymnasium and additional fascia repairs at the Post Office/YMCA. The work must be completed in accordance with historic preservation standards. Period of Performance The contract performance period will commence within ten (10) calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at Building 40 located within the Sandy Hook Unit at Gateway National Recreation Area, Fort Hancock, NJ.
