Sale of Caldwell County Board of Education Property and Solicitation of Upset Bids

The Caldwell County Board of Education is offering certain real property for sale, with the sale contingent upon advertising for upset bids as mandated by law. The property includes lands and any improvements located at Shadowbrook Drive, Brookwood Place, and Tumbleweed Drive in Lenoir, NC. The current offer for the property is $170,000.00. Interested parties can submit upset bids within ten days of this notice, with a minimum upset bid set at $178,550.00. The upset bid must exceed the current offer by at least ten percent of the first $1,000.00 and five percent of the remaining amount. All bids must be accompanied by a 5% deposit of the bid amount. Bids should be sealed and delivered to Andy Puhl, Assistant Superintendent for Auxiliary Services, at the Caldwell County Board of Education offices located at 1914 Hickory Blvd., SW, Lenoir, NC. After the ten-day period, the Assistant Superintendent will open the bids and the highest qualifying bid will be accepted. If multiple bids are received at the highest amount, the first one will be considered. The process will continue until no further qualifying bids are received, at which point the property will be sold to the highest bidder unless all offers are rejected.
