Background Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is a comprehensive, public, two-year institution of higher education located in Overland Park, Kansas. The College is the state's third largest institution of higher education and the largest among the nineteen community colleges in Kansas, educating approximately 35,000 students. The contract for On-Call Paver Repair and Replacement Services is intended to provide necessary repairs and replacements at JCCC owned facilities. Work Details The contractor will provide On-Call Paver Repair and Replacement Services which include: furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, services, tasks, and incidental work necessary for both emergency and non-emergency paver repair and replacement services. Specific tasks include: - Hazard Mitigation: Addressing urgent tripping hazards caused by sunken or loose pavers. - Paver Resetting/Re-leveling: Removing uneven pavers, re-leveling the base material (sand/gravel), compacting the surface, and reinstalling pavers for proper drainage. - Edge Repair: Re-securing loose edge restraints to prevent shifting of pavers. - Joint Sand Replacement: Refilling joints with polymeric sand to stabilize pavers and inhibit weed growth. - Damaged Paver Replacement: Removing and replacing cracked or broken pavers with new units (provided by JCCC or purchased by the contractor). - Deep Cleaning and Sealing: Spot cleaning repairs and full-area pressure washing with protective sealing. - Large-Scale Installations: Assisting in product selection and samples. General requirements include maintaining safe work areas with barricades/signage, debris removal from sites daily, quick response times for urgent requests (same-day service), compliance with safety standards (OSHA), and documentation of all repairs performed. Period of Performance The initial term of this Agreement shall be one year from the date of execution. The College may extend the term for up to four additional one-year increments upon annual notice to the contractor. Place of Performance Services will be performed at various facilities owned by Johnson County Community College located in Overland Park, Kansas. Bidder Requirements Contractors must demonstrate previous experience providing similar services at public agencies or private companies. They must also provide evidence of financial stability and relevant insurance coverages as specified in Section 4 - JCCC Additional Terms & Conditions. Additionally, contractors must disclose any conflicts of interest as per JCCC’s Conflict of Interest Policy 431.00.
