Posted: April 7, 2026, 5:05 p.m. EDT THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT FOR REQUEST FOR QUOTE. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item being procured in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information as included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes/proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The National Park Service intends to solicit quotes for a service of Livestock Wrangling Service IAW SOW for Valles Caldera National Preserve in New Mexico. This is the solicitation number 140P6426Q0036 and is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This requirement is a 100% total small business set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 112111. The small business size standard is $2.5 M. Provisions and clauses are, incorporated in this solicitation document. Anticipated Award Date: on or before 05/10/2026 with an effective date of 05/15/2026. To be considered for award your company must obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Independently, and not as an agent of the Government, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to provide livestock wrangling service IAW SOW at Valles Caldera National Preserve. This solicitation is a Request for Quote (RFQ) Award of this contract will be made according to FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All references to proposal in this solicitation shall be understood to mean quotation. Quotations shall be evaluated in an impartial manner and consideration given to those with the highest perceived value to the government.

Background The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking to procure livestock wrangling services for the Valles Caldera National Preserve in New Mexico. The goal of this contract is to manage and secure trespass cattle within the park boundaries, thereby supporting the NPS mission to preserve natural and cultural resources for future generations. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) under solicitation number 140P6426Q0036, which is a total small business set-aside. Work Details The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for livestock wrangling services at Valles Caldera National Preserve. Specific tasks include: 1. Horse-mounted wrangling of trespass cattle, focusing on rounding up between 90-95% of loose cattle within the park boundary. 2. Herding the cattle into designated corrals, specifically the San Antonio Corral, which has a capacity of approximately 300 animals. 3. Notifying park law enforcement immediately upon securing the cattle in corrals. 4. Conducting wrangling services typically one day per week or two days every other week from May to November each year. 5. Covering approximately five miles or less from herd location to corral and up to twenty miles in a day if herds are found in multiple locations. 6. Maintaining communication with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) while performing duties, using personal communication equipment due to spotty cell service in the park.
