Background The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is issuing a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Rock Quarry Road Improvements project. The base bid includes: 1) Mobilization and Demobilization; 2) Demolition and Removal; 3) Clearing and Grubbing; 4) Remove and Replace Existing Riprap; 5) Earthwork (Excavation & Compaction); 6) Installation of an 8’ x 4’ Precast Concrete Box Culvert (65 linear feet); 7) Concrete End Section (Flared Treatment - 2 each); 8) Placement of a 6” Compacted Rock Base (AB-3 - 1,400 square yards); 9) Installation of a 6” HMA Commercial Grade (Class A - 405 tons); 10) Emulsion (ss-1HP Tack - 1 ton); 11) Aggregate Shoulders (AS-1 - 50 tons); 12) Riprap (KDOT Class 200 - 650 tons); 13) Guard Rail (Steel Post & Steel Plate - 736 linear feet). The contractor must ensure that all work is completed within the specified time frame. Period of Performance The contract work is to be completed within a period of 65 calendar days from the issuance of the 'Notice to Proceed' by the KDWP Project Manager. Place of Performance The improvements will take place at El Dorado State Park, specifically along Rock Quarry Road. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a bid guarantee of 5%. Contractors are required to have been in business for at least five successive years and demonstrate experience with five projects of comparable complexity. They must also self-perform all phases of work. Additionally, bidders must comply with various certifications including immigration reform compliance, anti-discrimination laws, tax clearance requirements, and certification regarding not engaging in boycotts against Israel.
