Background The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is seeking improvements to the shooting range at Cheney Wildlife Area. The goal of this contract is to demolish the existing shooting range and construct a new one, enhancing safety and functionality for users. This initiative aligns with the agency's mission to provide outdoor recreational opportunities while ensuring public safety. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Demolition of the existing shooting range, including: A. Removal of the existing canopy and columns in the target area, salvaging existing column angle iron bracing. B. Removal of existing concrete sidewalks. C. Salvaging 16 shooting range benches for reuse at new firing line locations. 2. Installation of new shooting ranges (100yd, 50yd, 25yd, 10yd) with bullet traps, including: A. Installation of bullet traps with trench drains. B. Installation of prefabricated ballistic panels (10-ft and 20-ft) constructed using 7,000-lb concrete. 3. Construction of a Shooting Range Shelter featuring sound-absorbing panels and a total of 34 shooting range benches (16 salvaged). 4. Development of parking lot and sidewalks including: A. Two ADA-compliant concrete parking stalls. B. Concrete sidewalks from the shelter to each bullet trap. C. An AB-3 parking lot with 40 concrete parking blocks. Period of Performance The work must be completed within 120 calendar days from the 'Notice to Proceed' issued by the KDWP Project Manager. Place of Performance Cheney Wildlife Area, located at 1001 E Parallel Rd, Pretty Prairie, KS 67570. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a 5% bid guarantee and comply with various certifications including Tax Clearance Certificate, Immigration Reform and Control Certification, Sexual Harassment Policy compliance, and certification regarding not engaging in a boycott against Israel.
