Background The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, is the capital and largest municipality in the state, with a mission to ensure a safe, secure, and prosperous environment for its residents. The City employs over 2,500 individuals across 16 departments. This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is issued for the Weldon Avenue Drainage project, aimed at constructing drainage improvements for properties along Weldon Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets. Work Details The contractor will provide comprehensive heavy construction services including: - Construction of underground storm drainage systems - Curb inlet construction - Sidewalk reconstruction - Curb and driveway reconstruction - Related work as specified in the contract documents. Estimated quantities include: - Site Preparation: 1 LS - Unclassified Excavation: 100 CY - Compacted Embankment: 20 CY - Gravel Drive (6" thick): 310 SF - Concrete Driveway (6" thick): 1555 SF - Concrete Curb: 138 LF - Side Drain (12"): 72 LF - Sod (including topsoil): 200 SY Additional items include concrete ditch construction and flared end sections. Period of Performance The contractor must commence work within ten (10) calendar days after receiving the written 'Notice to Proceed' from the City and complete the project within sixty (60) consecutive calendar days thereafter. Place of Performance The work will be performed along Weldon Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bidder Requirements Bidders must possess a valid Arkansas State Contractor License. They are required to submit a completed Statement of Vendor’s Qualifications form, a Bid For Physical Improvements Form, and proof of insurance including Workmen’s Compensation and General Liability coverage. A bid bond of five percent (5%) of the total bid is required for bids over $50,000. Bidders must also certify compliance with non-boycott provisions regarding Israel and certain industries.
