HYD LAB SEDIMENT PUMPS

Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Bureau of Reclamation's Technical Service Center in Denver, Colorado, is responsible for constructing scaled hydraulic models. Due to the end of life of existing equipment, the Bureau requires the replacement of slurry pumps, motors, and variable frequency drives used for pumping sediment-laden water during physical model testing. This contract aims to supply and deliver the necessary equipment to support these operations. Work Details The contract includes the purchase and delivery of: 1. Two horizontal slurry pumps with 75-hp 3-phase motors. - Pump Specifications: a. Design flow of 3,400 gallons per minute (gpm) and design total dynamic head (TDH) of 40 feet. b. Capable of handling sediment-laden water (clays, sands, and small gravels) with a gradation size d50 of 0.5-2.0 mm. c. Maximum allowable passing particle sphere size is 75 mm. d. Impellers should be elastomer or rubber lined. - Motor Specifications: a. 75 hp b. 3-phase 480V, 60 Hz c. VFD (duty) rated motor d. Rated speed of 1,750 revolutions per minute (rpm) e. Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled (TEFC). 2. Two variable frequency drives (VFD) with control panels. - VFD Specifications: a. 75 hp b. 480V c. Adjustable carrier frequencies and high-frequency switching modes from 8 kHz to 16 kHz with resonant frequency skipping capability. d. VFDs must include EMC filters with C2/C3 filters. - Control Panel Specifications: a. Panel to house the VFD and associated control equipment. 3. Required electrical components and associated hardware for installation. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2026. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at the Bureau of Reclamation's Technical Service Center located in Denver, Colorado.
