Background The U.S. Forest Service is issuing Solicitation number 1240LU26Q0057 as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the replacement of the boiler and all associated equipment, piping, electrical, and plumbing within the basement mechanical room in the bunkhouse at the Plains Ranger District on the Lolo National Forest. This project aims to ensure efficient heating and compliance with safety standards in the facility. Work Details The work includes: 1. In-kind replacement of an existing boiler with a Low Water Cut-off, specifically an 85% AFUE 245 MBTU LP gas hot water boiler. 2. Installation of new plumbing and electrical systems including a Grundfos circulator pump, pump isolation flanges, air separator, expansion tank, flow safety switch, Automatic Boiler Fill valve/Pressure regulator, and Backflow prevention device. 3. All new piping must be copper type L with modifications to interior gas piping as necessary for new equipment. 4. The contractor will also provide glycol freeze protection additive as per manufacturer recommendations and pipe insulation as needed. 5. Demolition of existing boilers and associated equipment is required, following all applicable codes and standards for removal and disposal.
