Background The USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is issuing this solicitation for the BRL B3 Roof Replacement project located at the Biosciences Research Laboratory in Fargo, ND. The mission of the USDA ARS is to conduct research to develop and transfer solutions to agricultural problems of high national priority. The goal of this contract is to replace the deteriorated roof system on Building 3, which has been leaking and requires urgent attention. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Remove and dispose of the existing flat roof system down to structural decking. 2. Install new R-35 insulation. 3. Install a new 5/8” exterior grade coverboard adhered to the insulation. 4. Install a new 60 mil EPDM roof system that is mechanically attached, ensuring that existing gravel is not reused. 5. Install walking pads around the chiller and air handlers, specifically RF-RTP232 pads measuring 24”W x 30”L x 2”H with 1/4” round standoffs. 6. Install new sheet metal and flashing, including gutters in lieu of existing scuppers, with new downspouts placed in the same location unless over a window. 7. Repair existing and replace damaged PVC piping and supports within the reroof area only. 8. Conduct daily cleanup of the work area to minimize debris and maintain aesthetics. 9. Provide a portable toilet for contractor staff during the project duration. Period of Performance The total duration of this contract shall not exceed 120 days from the time of award.
