Background The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a requirement for the procurement of Distraction Devices, Specialty Impact and Area Saturation Munitions, hand delivered and launched in 40mm launchers, for training and operational use. This contract will be awarded and administered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Relevant agencies within DHS may include U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Secret Service (USSS), Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), among others. Work Details The contract involves the procurement of Less Lethal Specialty Munitions (LLSM) including: 1. Hand Delivered Pyrotechnic Canisters: - Smoke Canister for Training (Reduced Toxicity): Equipped with an M201A1 or equivalent fuze with a 1.5 second delay, designed to disperse white smoke for 30-50 seconds, less toxic than Hexachloroethane (HC) smoke, performance equal to or better than Defense Technologies part number 1063. - Continuous Discharge CS Canister: Also equipped with an M201A1 or equivalent fuze with a 1.5 second delay, designed to disperse CS gas for 20-40 seconds. 2. Additional items include various types of grenades and munitions such as flameless expulsion grenades, rubber ball grenades, and 40mm launched specialty impact munitions. Period of Performance The anticipated contract will have a five-year ordering period from the date of award. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to various locations as specified by the DHS agencies involved in the contract.
