Background The 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, part of the Marine Force Reserves, requires non-personal services for full-time support in small boat maintenance and operations across five geographically separate boat lockers within the 4th Marine Division. The primary duty location is Fort Sam Houston at the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion Headquarters and Service Company Home Training Center in San Antonio, TX. The goal of this contract is to ensure effective maintenance and operational readiness of various amphibious and boating equipment. Work Details The contractor will provide full-time support for small boat maintenance and operations, which includes: 1. Assisting battalion's amphibious and boat chiefs with professional and technical collaboration, maintenance, and operational training advisement. 2. Developing daily operational briefings/reports for approximately 96 pieces of equipment including various types of boats and engines. 3. Conducting regular travel to multiple locations including Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Alameda, CA, Smyrna, GA, and Mobile, AL for maintenance support. 4. Maintaining a library of boat locker publications and ensuring compliance with all applicable Marine Corps technical manuals. 5. Providing technical support for scheduling preventative maintenance and conducting training on organic equipment. 6. Ensuring all contractor employees have necessary certifications to maintain the specified watercraft and engines. Period of Performance The contract will have a one-year base period from May 15, 2026, to May 14, 2027, with four additional one-year option periods extending through May 14, 2031. Place of Performance Primary place of performance is at the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion boat locker located at 3037 Binz Engleman Road, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX. Additional locations include Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Oahu, HI; Company A in Alameda, CA; Company B in Smyrna, GA; and the Force Company boat locker in Mobile, AL.
