Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to procure Locum Gastroenterology (GI) Physician Services for the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center. The goal of this contract is to provide high-quality gastroenterology services to eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that care meets or exceeds national standards as established by recognized medical organizations. Work Details The Contractor shall provide Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician Services on-site, on-call, and callback. Services include: 1. Providing comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD). 2. Managing inpatients and performing inpatient procedures as part of the inpatient consult services. 3. Conducting follow-ups on pathology results and communicating with patients regarding their health outcomes. 4. Ordering tests and placing consult requests when medically indicated. 5. Ensuring compliance with VA policies and directives related to patient care, documentation, and quality assurance. 6. Participating in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings as required by facility leadership. 7. Maintaining all necessary credentials, licenses, and certifications for the provision of services. Period of Performance Base Year: June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027; Option Year One: June 1, 2027 to May 31, 2028; Option Year Two: June 1, 2028 to May 31, 2029; Option Year Three: June 1, 2029 to May 31, 2030; Option Year Four: June 1, 2030 to May 31, 2031. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center located at 7400 Merton Minter Street, San Antonio TX 78229-4404.
