Background The National Park Service (NPS), MWR NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO), is issuing a solicitation for a construction project at Theodore Roosevelt National Park, located approximately 25 miles south/southwest of Watford City, North Dakota. The goal of the contract is to provide conservation work by replacing a segment of existing boundary fence to protect and manage the bison herds within the North Unit of the park. This project is significant as it involves work within a designated wilderness area, which necessitates specific limitations on equipment use and access. Work Details The work consists of removing existing fence and constructing new fence starting at the Corral Creek crossing and extending approximately 4400 linear feet as the Base Bid. The new fence will terminate by tying into existing fence with new double H-brace corner structures at both ends. Additionally, existing suspended fence spans crossing Corral Creek and an unnamed drainageway will be removed, with new cable suspended fence structures constructed that will terminate with welded steel pipe fence panel abutments. The locations of these structures are to be field verified and are expected to span up to 60 linear feet. There are also two option bid items: Option Bid Item No. 1 involves extending the new fence an additional 1300 linear feet from the Base Bid terminating point; Option Bid Item No. 2 involves constructing new fence across a butte saddle for approximately 450 linear feet. Period of Performance Work is anticipated to begin in Spring/Summer 2026, with the Base Bid to be completed within 320 calendar days from the start date provided in the Notice to Proceed (NTP). If Bid Option 1 is awarded, an additional 60 calendar days will be added; if Bid Option 2 is awarded, an additional 30 calendar days will be added.
