Background The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking to procure the operation of a wet atmospheric monitoring station designated as NADP/NTN site CO01, located in Bent County, Colorado. This contract supports the interagency National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) and aims to facilitate the collection and analysis of precipitation data as part of the National Trends Network (NTN). The USGS has determined that no other source can provide the required services, leading to a sole source justification for this contract. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for operating the NADP/NTN wet atmospheric monitoring station at site CO01 on a weekly basis. Tasks include: - Conducting site visits to collect precipitation samples, - Processing these samples in accordance with the Operations Manuals provided by USGS, - Completing the Reporting Form, - Packaging samples, and shipping them to the laboratory via FedEx 2nd Day Air using USGS-provided prepaid mailers. Additionally, the contractor must collect and transmit associated data including precipitation gauge records, perform routine instrument checks, maintenance, and repairs as needed. The contractor will also coordinate with key personnel at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) regarding site specifications and maintenance. Period of Performance The period of performance for this contract is a 12-month base period with four additional 12-month option periods. Place of Performance The contract will be performed at NADP site CO01 located in Bent County, Colorado.
