Background The West Virginia Office of Shared Administration (WVOSA), Purchasing Division is soliciting bids on behalf of The Department of Health Facilities, Welch Community Hospital. The goal of this contract is to establish an open-end service contract to supply temporary staffing of respiratory therapists for Welch Community Hospital. This request is covered in part or in whole by federal funds, and all bidders will be required to acknowledge and adhere to the attached Federal Funds Addendum. Work Details The contract requires the provision of respiratory therapists who must be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care and have a minimum of one year experience in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include administering treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring timely documentation into patient’s Electronic Medical Records, providing cardiopulmonary services, and performing diagnostic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders. The vendor must respond to staffing requests within 48 hours and provide a list of potential candidates within 72 hours. The facility reserves the right to terminate any personnel providing services at its discretion. Period of Performance The contract will be effective upon award and will remain in effect until all contracted services are fulfilled or terminated by either party with appropriate notice. Place of Performance Services will be performed at Welch Community Hospital located in West Virginia. Bidder Requirements Vendors must have at least twelve months’ experience in operating a Direct Care Staffing organization. They must provide candidates who are graduates from COARC approved schools with current certifications (CPR, PALS, ACLS) and possess all necessary licenses and permits required for performance. Vendors must also ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding staffing.
