REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION

Provide all necessary professional and technical services to prepare a complete and usable set of 100% construction documents (drawings and specifications) suitable for bidding and construction. This project provides for the renovation of approximately 671 square feet of interior space in to house the nickel-cadmium (Ni-CAD) Battery Shop on JBPHH, HI.

Background The Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gather market research prior to the potential issuance of a solicitation. The goal is to prepare for the renovation of approximately 671 square feet of interior space in Building 2131H at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), HI, to house the nickel-cadmium (Ni-CAD) Battery Shop. The existing facility is substandard and does not meet Department of Defense (DoD) standards for environmental, safety, and operational controls. Work Details The Architect-Engineer (A-E) firm will provide all necessary professional and technical services to prepare a complete set of 100% construction documents suitable for bidding and construction. Key tasks include: conducting a project kick-off meeting and site visits; developing design documents including coordinated drawings and specifications; providing cost estimates at various stages; performing hazardous area classification determinations; ensuring compliance with DoD/DAF criteria; coordinating site access requirements; conducting independent technical reviews at each milestone; and submitting deliverables including design development, pre-final, and final construction documents. Specific design requirements include ensuring proper ventilation, safety interlocks, emergency exhaust systems, plumbing installations, electrical systems design, fire protection modifications, and commissioning/testing requirements. Period of Performance The A-E firm is expected to complete all work and deliver the final construction documents within 120 calendar days after contract award.
