This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Air Force is not seeking proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Provide all necessary professional and technical services to prepare a complete and usable set of 100% construction documents (drawings and specifications) suitable for bidding and construction. This project provides for the renovation of approximately 671 square feet of interior space in to house the nickel-cadmium (Ni-CAD) Battery Shop on JBPHH, HI.
Background The Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to gather market research prior to the potential issuance of a solicitation. The goal is to prepare for the renovation of approximately 671 square feet of interior space in Building 2131H at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), HI, to house the nickel-cadmium (Ni-CAD) Battery Shop. The existing facility is substandard and does not meet Department of Defense (DoD) standards for environmental, safety, and operational controls. Work Details The Architect-Engineer (A-E) firm will provide all necessary professional and technical services to prepare a complete set of 100% construction documents suitable for bidding and construction. Key tasks include: conducting a project kick-off meeting and site visits; developing design documents including coordinated drawings and specifications; providing cost estimates at various stages; performing hazardous area classification determinations; ensuring compliance with DoD/DAF criteria; coordinating site access requirements; conducting independent technical reviews at each milestone; and submitting deliverables including design development, pre-final, and final construction documents. Specific design requirements include ensuring proper ventilation, safety interlocks, emergency exhaust systems, plumbing installations, electrical systems design, fire protection modifications, and commissioning/testing requirements. Period of Performance The A-E firm is expected to complete all work and deliver the final construction documents within 120 calendar days after contract award.
