Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) as part of its market research to identify American companies based in the United States of America with the interest and capability to manufacture and supply commercial-grade motor bearings. These bearings are critical components for Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors used in small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS). This is an RFI only. This RFI is for planning and market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The Government will not award a contract on the basis of this RFI. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) TO BE SUBMITTED. Background Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is conducting market research to identify American companies capable of manufacturing and supplying commercial-grade motor bearings. These bearings are essential components for Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors utilized in small uncrewed aircraft systems (sUAS). This Request for Information (RFI) is solely for planning and market research purposes and does not represent a solicitation for proposals or quotations. The government will not award a contract based on this RFI. Work Details TYAD seeks to identify domestic sources capable of manufacturing and/or supplying the following commercial-grade bearings: - Part Number 625-2RS: Inner Diameter (ID) 6mm, Outer Diameter (OD) 16mm, Thickness 5mm, Application for motors larger than 31mm. - Part Number MR126-2RS: ID 6mm, OD 12mm, Thickness 4mm, Application for motors sized between 28 - 31mm. - Part Number MR105-2RS: ID 5mm, OD 10mm, Thickness 4mm, Application for motors sized between 24 - 27mm. All materials used in the bearings must not be sourced from prohibited foreign countries such as China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea. Place of Performance The contract work is expected to be performed within the United States.
