Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for elevator maintenance, inspection, and repair services at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) located in Reno, NV. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the vertical transportation equipment operates as originally designed and meets all applicable codes and standards. Work Details The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, parts, materials, tools, incidental engineering services, and transportation necessary to perform maintenance, repair, inspection, testing, and component replacement for the elevators. Services include: - Providing a full-time journeyman mechanic during standard operating hours (Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM). - Ensuring 24/7 service availability for callbacks. - Compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and obtaining necessary licenses and permits. - Adhering to safety codes such as ASME A17.1 and NFPA standards. - Exclusions include work on equipment not installed under this contract without prior approval from the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). The contractor must also manage their own office space and tools required for service delivery.
